Announcements
June 2020 profits from the sales of Kino Knits self-published patterns will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which "is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society."
The Knitting on Safari Collection is live! This collection features:
- Cape Town Protea, a single-skein asymmetrical triangle shawl, released May 16
- Nairobi Adventures, a two-skein crescent shawl, released June 6
- Zanzibar Waves, a three-skein rectangular choose-your-own-adventure shawl, released July 3
The collection will be on sale for just $5 total through 11:59 PM Eastern on July 5 with Ravelry coupon code LETSGO - or just click here to apply the code automatically. If you buy before all the patterns are available, they will automatically pop into your Ravelry library as they are released on the dates listed above.
Kits for the Nairobi Adventures shawl will be available in a couple different colorway options from Beachy Breeze Fibers. Get 15% off with code SAFARI15. Thank you to Sam from Beachy Breeze Fibers for dyeing and providing the custom colorways for my Nairobi Adventures sample!

Socks from a Tube by Danielle Thuen (free via Ravelry) on US 1 (2.25 mm) 9" circulars in Round Table Yarns Merlin (75/25 merino/nylon, 463 yards/100 g) in colorway Grete Chere. Counts for #itwspotlightkal2020.
Finish or Frog?
Karin Tote (pattern discontinued) by Nina Isaacson in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky (100% wool, 137 yards/100 g) in the Wallaby colorway. Since filming the video below, I have blocked it, seamed it, sewn in plastic mesh for structure, and attached the handle. Still need to sew a fabric lining and sew that in.
Spinning
As of May 31, 2020, I've spun 79 days out of my total goal of 200 for 2020.
#sistersheepspin - about to fill 6th bobbin. Will ply when I fill 9.
Unwind Yarn Company BFL/Nylon Lush 3-ply - spinning for socks on Electric Eel Mini wheel.
