2015 Yarn Crawls

Have you ever been on a yarn crawl? A wool walk? A shop hop? Insert other clever name here?I haven't. I want to. However, the geography doesn't work for me - I only know of one place to buy yarn in Kenya, so the crawl would be from one end of the short rack to the other. The way most yarn crawls work is this: you buy a ticket or passport or tote bag for shops located near each other for a specific date range. Then you visit those shops during that time, get your card stamped, enjoy a discount, and potentially win freebies and door prizes. Sounds fun!Since I'm super-jealous of anyone who might have the opportunity, I decided to compile a list of these events for readers for the rest of 2015, just in case some of you can take advantage. (It actually looks like MANY already took place in March. Whoops.) Click on the links to go to the event website. All are located in the U.S., unless otherwise noted. There are also several that are not listed because they have not announced their 2015 dates yet. If you know of others, please feel free to tell about them in the comments!April 11-19 (GO NOW!): Charm City Yarn Crawl, Baltimore, MDApril 16-19 (GO NOW!): NJ Wool Walk, New JerseyApril 17-19 (GO NOW!): Great Rhody Yarn Crawl, Rhode IslandMay 1-2: South Sound Yarn Crawl, Lakewood, Washington area. Placed on hold this year, BUT they are having a special Downtown Abbey event instead!May 7-10: WNC Yarn Crawl, Ashville, NCJune 5-14: Metro Yarn Crawl, Washington, DC areaJune 5-20: East Tennessee Yarn Crawl, East TenneseeJune 13-14: Indie Burgh Yarn Crawl, Edinburgh, ScotlandJune 25-28: I-91 Shop Hop, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and VermontJuly 12-25: Illiana Yarn Crawl, Illinois/Indiana borderAugust 1-9: Chicago Yarn Crawl, Chicago areaAugust 1-16: Hot August Knits Yarn Crawl, ColoradoAugust 22-30: Yarn Along the Rockies, Colorado
